Use the fix if you are not into image editing AT ALL. (trully, end, start, and whatever here, excellent site don’t miss ALL the tutorial section, for amateur to professional photographers and all the rest)Įvery monitor has its faults and more than that huge differences in the quality and spectrum, in terms of tone and color rendering, every device that captures (video-photos) the same, our eyes are even worse and required the creation of certain profiles for the images to even look bearable on a screen. The problem is that stupid Microsoft left Windows Photo Viewer color-profile-blind (it ignores the profile), WHEREAS the slideshow feauture inside photo viewer (central round button) display the correct colors anyway (provided the above calibration/download is done) For your information: A proper profile can be downloaded by your manufacturer (not usually good) by certain sites/reviews that have calibrated the exact same model (better) or using an -owned or borrowed- monitor calibrator (spyder, x-rite), which is the best solution. As far as I can see on your screenshot PS and Windows Photo Viewer (old) are showing the right colors. Heres how to fix the problem: In the search box on the Start menu, type color and hit Enter.Color Management will open. The old Windows photo viewer, however, can do color management. where you do not need color management as long as you stay in sRGB. I used to like Faststone, too, you can use it for just quickly checking photos, but it does not show you the real colors, unless you have a screen that was calibrated to sRGB by the manufacturer, i.e. The Win 10 Photos app does not do color managment at all. You will never get the same colors in Faststone as in PS.

As far as I know Faststone is ignoring the screen profile, it has no real color managment. I think you will not see correct colors with either Faststone Viewer or Win 10 Photos app.
